ABOUT
I've been in pastoral ministry since 1992. I've served in small and large churches, new and old churches, sung in the choir and played the guitar. I love helping churches become healthy and thrive as they dig deep into God's Word and move out, empowered by the Holy Spirit, to represent God's Kingdom in the world. Currently I get to lead the outreach ministries at Oak Pointe Church in Novi, MI, as we expand our community partnerships and develop our heart for sharing the hope of Christ in our realms of influence. I also continue to oversee our ministry in the schools and in the community in the Cody Rouge neighborhood of Detroit that is in its seventh year.

TESTIMONY
My life story is a miraculous testimony of the grace of God. In reality I was saved from a life of seeking pleasure, selfishness, bitterness and loneliness.
Growing up in a pastor’s home I was in church three days a week. I don’t remember a time in my life when I didn’t understand the gospel or have John 3:16 memorized. Honestly, I don’t remember when I put my faith in Jesus as my Savior from sin. I remember one night praying with one of our pastors and my best friend because he wanted to be saved, but I also remember believing that I was already saved at that point.
In fifth grade I publicly proclaimed my faith through baptism. Through middle school and high school I maintained a regular habit of bible reading, scripture memory, prayer and service. I believe that following Jesus is the best way to live life.
So how was I saved from a life of seeking pleasure, selfishness, bitterness and loneliness? Because I know myself. Without the presence of the Holy Spirit in my life and the Word of God guiding my decisions, that’s the path I would have chosen. It would have been a miserable disaster. I don’t know why God chose to put me in a godly home, give me a hunger to follow him, and the privilege of walking the “straight and narrow” path from early childhood. I’m so thankful He did.
When I was a senior in high school I was planning to go into business. One day my youth pastor asked me what I wanted to do with my life. I told him I wanted to go into business and serve as a youth pastor in a small church who couldn’t afford one. I went into great detail about the youth ministry, but not the career in business. When he asked me again what I wanted to do with my life I was a little confused but gave him essentially the same answer.
The third time he asked me, “What do you want to do with your life?” I realized that God had put in my heart a passion for His Church, the gospel, and seeing peoples hearts turned to Him. I’m thankful for my youth pastor, who saw God’s call in my life and affirmed it in me.
I’m grateful for the privilege of serving my Savior. I’m certainly not a perfect man, but I rest in God’s grace and seek to bring honor to His Name.
